I’m thirty-something, married to a wonderful man and have three cats.

When my daughter was born, I was born too – as both a mother and as a doula. Having had a doula by my side for my labour, I experienced the phenomenal benefits of her presence. And in my heart I knew this was what I wanted to do – support women through the incredible journey their bodies were designed for.

When I witness a woman find strength within her that she didn’t think she had, and she gives birth not only to a new life, but also to herself as a mother – then I am reminded of the privileged position of a doula.

It is an honour and a humbling experience to be a part of each and every birth. Each one is different, beautiful and life-altering.
